The Pacific Sutera Hotel, an integral part of the esteemed Sutera Harbour Resort, stood as the proud host for the Miss World Malaysia 2023 pageant. Providing top-of-the-class hospitality services, The Pacific Sutera Hotel, with its stunning waterfront location overlooking the South China Sea, offered a truly picturesque backdrop for this prestigious event.

State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Yang Berhormat Datuk Christina Liew, during a press conference at The Pacific Sutera Hotel, said the festival is not just positioned as a beauty pageant, but rather an immersive experience for empowerment — blending beauty, talent, intellect and philanthropy.

Eric Goh, Director of Fantastic Golden which is the main organiser of the festival in his statement said that they believe that the event would attract massive fans and followers in the region and bring about positive impact to promote Sabah as an attractive tourist destination. Fantastic Golden collaborated with HyperLive Entertainment in organising the event.

The Miss World pageant, with a storied history dating back to 1951, has consistently championed the principles of “Beauty with a Purpose.” Over the decades, it has transcended its origins as a conventional beauty contest to become a platform that places philanthropy and charitable endeavours at its core. Behind the scenes, the Miss World Malaysia Organisation orchestrated the pageant, known for its dedication to empowering young women to effect meaningful change within their communities. This organisation meticulously selected contestants who shared a fervent commitment to the Miss World ethos of “Beauty with a Purpose.”

A poignant chapter of the pageant unfolded on Sutera@Mantanani Island Resort & Spa, where the Miss World Malaysia 2023 finalists actively participated in a beach cleaning program. This initiative was a tangible testament to their dedication to environmental conservation and their profound understanding of the responsibilities that accompany their roles as advocates for positive change.

The Ultra Party, held at the enchanting Horizons Sky Bar and Cigar Lounge within The Pacific Sutera Hotel, offered guests a night of unparalleled entertainment and interaction with the contestants. This soirée was a dazzling affair where guests had the unique opportunity to mingle up close and personal with the contestants.

One of the most poignant and heart-warming events within the Miss World Malaysia 2023 pageant was the Charity Gala and Awards Dinner, held at The Pacific Sutera Hotel. Adding an extra layer of prestige to the event, Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska graced the Gala Night with her presence. The Gala Dinner proved to be a success on the philanthropic front as well. The total amount raised for all beneficiaries soared to an impressive RM192,000 and the funds were directed towards various charitable causes.

Elevating the pageant to new heights, Miss World Malaysia 2023 embraced an innovative reality show format. This transformative approach allowed a global audience to bear witness to the contestants’ evolution, challenges, and their unwavering commitment to charitable initiatives. The entire journey, from auditions to crowning, was captured in a six-episode reality series and broadcasted exclusively on iQIYI, a China-based broadcasting platform with over 100 million subscribers.
