Requirements:

  • Open to all student who is taking hospitality program or related field, local or international students studying in Sabah.
  • Student must be ready to work on shift.
  • Must be service-minded and have a can-do attitude.
  • Must have NRIC for local student.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and not more than 25 of age.

This position reports directly to the Executive Chinese Chef for day-to-day Chinese Kitchen operation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Executive Chinese Chef in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in the kitchen and in developing new dishes
  • Supervise all food preparation, production and presentation to ensure consistency in food quality and freshness in accordance with the restaurant’s standard operating procedures and food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist in training junior kitchen staff
  • Ensure general kitchen cleanliness, tidiness and safety, and hygiene in food preparation and storage
  • Ensure overall implementation of FSMS in Chinese kitchen are in place
  • Assist in monthly inventory counts and recording of food wastage
  • Implement plans to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize wastage
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
Qualifications
  • Good planning, organizational and communications skills
  • Able to lead and be a good team player
  • Good culinary skills, especially in Chinese cuisine
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging work environment
  • Certified in Basic Food Hygiene
  • Able to work split shift, weekends and public holidays
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity in the F&B industry
  • Those with HACCP knowledge or FSMS certificate will have an added advantage

The Guest Relations Officer - Chinese Speaking is responsible for ensuring all Chinese-speaking guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay. This role includes greeting guests upon arrival, managing check-ins and check-outs, handling guest inquiries and complaints, and providing information about hotel facilities and services. The officer will also play a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by addressing their needs promptly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guest Services:
    • Welcome guests upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in process.
    • Provide personalized service and attention to guests especially the guests from China.
    • Offer information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  2. Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between Chinese-speaking guests and other hotel departments.
    • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
    • Ensure clear and effective communication with guests in both Chinese and English.
  3. Problem Resolution:
    • Address and resolve guest issues or complaints promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.
    • Follow up with guests to ensure their needs have been met.
  4. Coordination:
    • Coordinate with the Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Assist in organizing special events and arrangements for Chinese-speaking guests.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of guest interactions and transactions.
    • Prepare daily reports on guest feedback and any issues that arise.
    • Assist in the preparation of guest correspondence and promotional materials in Chinese.
  6. Promote Hotel Services:
    • Upsell hotel facilities and services to maximize guest experience and revenue.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Diploma Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Previous experience in a guest relations or customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
